Three CIP schemes shortlisted at the NLA 2021 awards

Three Community Investment Programme schemes have been shortlisted at the New London 2021 awards.

NLA’s annual New London Awards, presented in association with the Mayor of London, celebrate all scales of projects, from community-led to large-scale mixed-use developments, both built and unbuilt.

The awards seek projects which demonstrate the positive impact high-quality design, planning and construction can have on people, neighbourhoods and the city.

In the Unbuilt category, phase 2 of the Abbey regeneration project has been shortlisted. This phase of the regeneration will deliver a new Health and Community Centre for the area. The new centre will provide a range of educational, recreational, cultural and social opportunities for local residents as well as a self-contained creche with direct access to an outdoor play area.

In the Housing category both Agar Grove and Kiln Place have been shortlisted.

Set to be the UK's largest residential Passivhaus development, Agar Grove will deliver over 500 new homes for Camden. These new homes will be created to much higher standards of design, space and environmental sustainability as well as an increase in community and commercial space.

The 15 new homes at Kiln Place were developed on underused corners of the existing blocks and helped to re-organise and improve the current entrance into the existing buildings. As well as the new 15 new homes, improvements were also made to the children’s playground and new garden fences backing onto the playground.

You can vote for all three schemes in the ‘People’s Choice award’ – further details and voting information can be found here.
