Older Persons' Freedom Pass (OPFP)

Older Persons' Freedom Pass (OPFP)

The pass allows free travel between 9.30am and 11pm, Mondays to Fridays and all day at weekends and on public holidays on local buses anywhere in England.

Disabled Persons' Freedom Pass

Disabled Person Freedom Pass


The travel pass for disabled people allows free travel across London and free bus journeys nationally.

To be eligible for a disabled persons Freedom Pass, your sole or principal residence must be in London. You must also have any of the statutory disabilities listed in the Transport Act 2000.

60+ London Oyster Photocard

60+ London Oyster Photocard

If you have not yet reached state pensionable age to be eligible for the statutory Older Persons Freedom Pass but are over 60 years old you can apply for a 60+ London Oyster Photocard, which allows holders to travel free on London transport networks.

Bus & Tram Discount photocard

Bus and Tram Discount photocard

You may qualify for a bus and tram discount if you live in London and are aged 18-60 and receive income support, employment and support allowance or jobseekers allowance, and are not getting any other free or discounted travel. The bus and tram discount photocard means you only pay half the adult Oyster fare on buses and trams.

There are the following cards available:

  • 26-30 Railcard
  • Family & Friends Railcard
  • Network Railcard
  • Senior Railcard
  • Disabled Persons Railcard
  • HM Forces Railcard
  • Regional Railcards

Railcards offer value for money if you travel by train, saving you at least 1/3 on most rail fares. You must carry your Railcard with you at all times during the journey in order to qualify for the discount.

Disabled persons railcards give discounted travel for the person with the railcard and one adult travelling with them for the whole journey.

If you're 18 or over, live in a London borough and in your first year of an apprenticeship, you can get discounted travel with an Oyster photocard.

If you served in the armed forces, you could get free and discounted travel on our transport services with a Veterans Oyster photocard.

NHS Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS)

If you're referred to hospital or other NHS premises for specialist NHS treatment or diagnostic tests by your doctor, dentist or another primary care health professional, you may be able to claim a refund of reasonable travel costs under the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS).
