Help to access food

Free Healthy Start vitamins are available to all families in Camden if you have children under 4. These will help make sure young children are getting enough Vitamin A and D.

Visit your local Children’s Centre & Family Hub to pick up your vitamins.

If you are on a low income, you may also be able to get:

  • Healthy Start payments to buy milk, fruit and vegetables
  • free school meals

For more information on these and other financial support, visit Help with money.

If you are in urgent need of support to access food, visit Help to access food.

Keeping a healthy weight

Children grow and develop at different rates, so it can be difficult to know what a healthy weight is. You can use a BMI calculator to check.

We can support your child if they:

  • are aged 4 to 17
  • are a resident or attend school in Camden
  • have a BMI on or above the 91st percentile

Our expert team can work with your child to improve diet, build confidence and increase physical activity. Sessions can be provided in schools, health centres or through home visits.

To refer your child for support, email [email protected].

Physical activity and exercise

Physical activity and regular exercise is one of the best ways to keep your child healthy and happy.
