Census returns

The centre holds microfilm copies of the census returns for the whole area that is now the London Borough of Camden for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901. These cover the former parishes of Hampstead, Holborn (St Andrew above Bars and St George the Martyr Queen Square), St Giles in the Fields (including St George Bloomsbury), and St Pancras.

In addition, the centre also holds census returns for Hampstead parish for 1801 and 1811. Although mainly statistical, these early returns do list by name a number of Hampstead residents.
