The Community Investment Programme (CIP) marks another year of progress and innovation, delivering much-needed affordable homes and community facilities that are helping to improve the lives of those who live and work in Camden.
Last year, 2024, saw us hit a high-water mark of more than 1,700 high-quality new homes completed, 70% of which have been genuinely affordable. This includes the completion 169 homes at Tybalds estate, Central Somers Town and Agar Grove estate, two thirds of which are genuinely affordable.
All this has been achieved in the face of a continuing nation-wide downturn in the construction sector and a tough economic outlook. Despite this, CIP has shown its flexibility and wide-ranging ability to deliver for Camden’s communities, including with the exploration of new delivery models on projects and progress on community spaces and council-owned temporary accommodation.
Watch our Cabinet Member for New Homes and Community Investment, Councillor Nasrine Djemai, discuss CIP’s progress this year and what this means for Camden’s residents.
