Community facilities

We’re building and refurbishing 9,000m2 of improved community facilities across Camden - the equivalent of 35 tennis courts. This includes:

  • new community centres at St Pancras and Highgate Newtown
  • improvements to tenants’ halls
  • new and improved sports facilities
  • new health facilities

Progress so far includes the St Pancras Community Centre on Plender Street: a bright, welcoming new building with flexible space for meetings, workshops, sports, childcare and other events. It’s a transformational improvement on the old centre that will allow the Community Association to thrive, serving the local community for years to come.

2019 saw the opening of the Greenwood Centre, Camden's first Centre for Independent Living. The centre was designed specifically for people with mental health needs and disabilities, serving as a central place for residents to seek out advice,  support and information on how to live independently, helping them to achieve the life they want for themselves.

As part of the regeneration of Bacton Low Rise we have refurbished the TRA hall bringing it back into use as a community asset. Improvements to the Bourne Estate tenants' hall will include a larger hall, additional meeting room and reception space.
