Chester Balmore

This redevelopment delivered homes on Balmore Street and Raydon street, replacing existing homes and commercial units, and a new GP surgery, shops and a café for local residents.
At the time of completion, Chester Balmore was the largest Passivhaus housing scheme in Camden. Passivhaus certification means homes meet the highest standard of energy efficiency, with triple glazed windows and walls designed to retain heat. The sustainable design enables residents to cut emissions and keep their energy bills down over the winter.
Located in the Dartmouth Park Conservation Area the design was a sensitive response to the context of Highgate Newtown and surrounding streets.
