Bacton Phase 2 - CIP

Bacton Phase 2

  • Ward:  Gospel Oak
  • Key Features: Delivering over 450 high-quality homes, including over 150 affordable council homes
  • Progress: The scheme is being delivered in two phases of which one has been completed. 67 homes have been delivered so far (including 46 affordable council homes)

The Bacton estate redevelopment will deliver over 450 new homes in total across two phases, providing spacious, energy-efficient living spaces along with new landscaped areas and public realm improvements to create a vibrant and inclusive neighbourhood.

Cherry Court and 2 Vicars Road, completed in 2017 as part of the first phase of the redevelopment, built 46 new council homes and 21 private homes on the estate, consisting of 4-storey townhouses and stacked maisonettes. The project’s vision was shaped by a close collaboration with residents.

As part of the second phase of the redevelopment, we have partnered with Mount Anvil, London-based housebuilding specialist, to deliver new, high-quality private homes and at least 61 additional affordable council homes. Providing much needed modern, sustainable homes including many family-sized council homes in the heart of Gospel Oak.

The second phase of the project builds on our extensive community-led engagement approach, with the design proposals currently undergoing a detailed design consultation before the planning application, due to be submitted in 2025.
